Build and Execute Reusable Packages

Step 7 of 41

Module Lifecycle and Entry Points

Introduction

This lesson covers objective 1.5 of PCAP-31-03 for the first half of the topic: building your own modules. It belongs to the Modules and Packages section (12% of the score, 6 of the 40 items). The exam expects you to explain what happens when a module is imported, why __name__ equals "__main__" in one situation and the module name in another, what the __pycache__ directory contains, how Python signals that a name is "private", and what __all__ does to a star import.
