Facilitation and Coaching

Introduction

This is the second lesson of the focus area Developing People and Teams in the PSM I assessment. The previous lesson explained that Scrum Teams manage themselves. This one explains how the Scrum Master helps them do it well: by facilitating events and conversations, by coaching individuals and the team, and by teaching Scrum to the people around them. Scrum.org does not publish the number of questions per focus area, but scenario questions about conflict, passive teams, stakeholders who disrupt events and "what should the Scrum Master do first?" all rely on the ideas in this lesson.
