Self-Managing Teams

Introduction

This lesson opens the second focus area of the PSM I assessment, Developing People and Teams. Scrum.org does not publish how many questions come from each focus area, but self-management is a theme that touches almost every scenario question: who decides how the work is done, what a Scrum Master may and may not do, how a team handles conflict, and how an organisation gets in the way of its own teams. The 2020 Scrum Guide (https://scrumguides.org/scrum-guide.html (opens in a new tab)) uses the words "self-managing" deliberately, replacing the older "self-organizing", and the exam follows that vocabulary.
