Artifacts and Their Commitments

Introduction

This lesson belongs to the focus area Understanding and Applying the Scrum Framework of the PSM I assessment. Scrum.org does not publish how many questions come from each focus area, but the artifacts are tested constantly, because almost every scenario question ends with "what should happen to the Product Backlog / Sprint Backlog / Increment?". The 2020 Scrum Guide (https://scrumguides.org/scrum-guide.html (opens in a new tab)) defines three artifacts, Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog and Increment, and attaches to each of them a commitment that brings focus and transparency: the Product Goal, the Sprint Goal and the Definition of Done.
