Cost-Effective Database Services and Capacity

This lesson covers Domain 4: Design Cost-Optimized Architectures, Task 4.3: Design cost-optimized database solutions. Domain 4 carries 20% of the scored content of SAA-C03. Database stems in this task typically give you a data model, an access pattern (steady, spiky, rarely used, read-heavy), a retention requirement, and a statement such as "minimize cost" or "reduce operational overhead". You then choose the database service, the capacity model, the purchasing option, the caching layer, and the backup and retention settings that cost least while still meeting the requirement.
